When I first really fell in love with painting I discovered the palette knife, a tool typically used to mix colors on a palette but that had been adapted into a tool of application and mixing onto the canvas. I did a lot of landscapes and studies of artists I love. Recently I had found that I had not used that technique in a while and I wanted to connect with it again. This painting is called woven for the way the colors and quick sharp movements create a sense of a woven tapestry. In the sunlight it almost looks like the water of a pond glistening in the sunlight.
