My Journey

I have been painting ever since I was a child. Some of my earliest memories are of creating. What and how I created has evolved immensely over time. Painting became an outlet for my mental health when I was dealing with immense pain. During the pandemic I really turned to abstract art as a form of expression using bold colors and fierce brushstrokes as an emotional outlet. I want people to look at my art and feel emotion that is what is most important to me. Each of my paintings tell a story and carry a piece of me. I truly hope my work resonates with you.

I have been painting ever since I was a kid and was very lucky to go to a lot of art summer camps that really fostered my love for creativity. During one camp we were encouraged to look up references for paintings. I found the artwork of Leonid Afremov, a palette knife painter and asked my teacher how he accomplished that technique, and from there I fell madly in love with painting. I was never really interested in displaying reality in the way we see it, I wanted to show it in the way we feel it, and using gestural movement created by a palette knife really allowed me to do that. My painting shifted again during the pandemic when I was unable to go outside and gain inspriation from the world around me. Instead I explored the depths of myself and used painting as a way to express myself and emotions when words did not do it justice.

I decided to pursue my dreams and go to art school in 2021 and now I am a junior studying graphic design and entrepreneurship at Pratt Institute in NYC. I started running a business in 2019, I opened an Etsy and hand painted hoodies for my friends. During the pandemic I was searching for a way to connect with people and I started streaming on twitch. I set up my laptop in my studio and streamed while working on my portfolio for art school applications. Now, here we are 5 years from where it truly all began and I now have my own website and am chasing my goal of being a full time artist.
