Forest represents the childlike nature of curiosity and adventure, abstracting the feeling of wonder we get as kids when playing pretend in the woods. It goes hand in hand with fantasy. The drips in this painting seem to have a warped sense of gravity making it seem as if the painting I upside down evoking the feeling of suspended time and magic as if one has entered a magical realm. Magic and imagination were such key parts of my life as a child and this and fantasy was a way to represent that and my desire to connect with those feelings again as an adult.
