As a kid some of my favorite memories were from going to the aquarium. I went into making this painting with no clear intention I just wanted to explore and ebb and flow and find something through the canvas. This painting was very unique for its combination of colors and very neon aspects. There is a lot of texture and not a lot of contrast in the blue which allows for the neon colors to really pop and creates a very interesting almost blacklight effect. The combination of colors really reminds me of the blue water and colorful coral one finds in an aquarium and that connected me back with that joy and wonder felt at the aquarium.
